After publishing Identity Snatchers, the questions didn’t stop. The questions expanded. What does it mean to be Christian? Is there another way? What if I stepped outside the system? Could there be a better expression of faith? How can I construct a coherent alternative? How do I rebuild myself? And finally, what happens when the rebuilding is no longer needed?

For years, I explored those questions through different ideas, different books, and even different kinds of stories. I tried to understand Christianity, rethink it, rebuild it, and sometimes simply escape it. Along the way, I came to recognize something deeper: my identity had not simply been lost. It had been co-opted.

Eventually, I stopped trying to construct the perfect answer. I stopped trying to build a better system. I began asking a simpler question: What can I carry with me from this journey, and what can I finally leave behind?

Identity Peace is the story of that journey. It is the journey of learning that I don’t have to fight, rebuild, or reconstruct anything to be myself and live my journey.

Part One — Reframing Christianity as a Narrative

Question: What story do I want to carry forward?

Abstract: Leaving a rigid religious system doesn’t mean discarding everything you once held dear. This chapter explores the painful realization that institutional church culture often strays far from the original story of Jesus, creating an exhausting cycle of trying to “do Christianity correctly.”

Part Two — Exploring Self as a Being
Question: Who am I when nobody else gets to define me?

Abstract: I’ve spent much of my life trying to figure out where I belong, who I am, what I believe, and what everything means. Perhaps peace isn’t finally having the answers. Perhaps peace is being able to continue the journey without them.

Part Three — Envisioning Life as a Journey
Question: What does life look like when I stop trying to arrive?

I’m not promising the reader a destination. I’m taking a major departure from my earlier writing and prior tendencies.

My projects tend to say…

Here’s what I discovered.
Here’s the system.
Here’s how it works.
Here’s what you should do.

Identity Peace will explore…

What I experienced.
What questions I asked.
What I discovered along the way.

Identity Peace isn’t the book where I finally figure everything out. It’s the book where I realize I don’t have to.
